PREGAME NOTES:
- After practicing with no issues on Thursday, Tuukka Rask will get the start in net for Boston on Friday, with the netminder making his first start since getting concussed minutes into the B’s game against Columbus on Jan. 14. After a revamped middle-six impressed during Boston’s last game against Vegas back on Jan. 21, Bruce Cassidy will keep those two lines (Heinen-Krejci-Kuhlman / DeBrusk-Coyle-Bjork) intact once again on Friday.
- Elsewhere on the roster, Joakim Nordstrom will return to the fourth line after Anton Blidh replaced him during that Vegas game, while Jeremy Lauzon will get another start on Boston’s third D pairing next to Matt Grzelcyk. The Bruins are 5-2-2 against Central Division opponents this season, and 10-3-3 against the Western Conference.
- While Boston has treaded water over the last couple of weeks, the Jets have been in a downright rut as of late, with Winnipeg dropping its last four games. During that stretch, the Jets have been outscored, 20-7.
