PREGAME NOTES:
- Tonight’s meeting — a rematch of the Eastern Conference Semifinals — will see the Blue Jackets and Bruins look to extend their respective point streaks to 12 and nine games.
- Despite Columbus’ ability to collect points at a steady rate, its roster has taken quite the hit as of late — with forward Alexandre Texier and goalie Joonas Korpisalo the latest to go down with injuries. Other injured players for the Blue Jackets include Cam Atkinson (ankle), Josh Anderson (shoulder) and many more.
- A banged-up Bruins roster is expected to get some relief on Thursday night, as both Torey Krug and David Krejci have been cleared to return to the lineup. Krug has missed three games with an upper-body injury, while Krejci missed Tuesday’s shootout loss to New Jersey due to a lower-body injury. Charlie McAvoy, who has also missed the last three games due to injury, will be a game-time decision. If he’s not cleared, Steven Kampfer will take his place on the blue line.
- Tuukka Rask will get the start in net for the Bruins, while Charlie Coyle has been slotted back up on the second line with Krejci. Sean Kuraly will center a third line with Anders Bjork and Danton Heinen.
- With tonight's game, Zdeno Chara will become just the 12th player in NHL history to play at least one game in four or more different decades. Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau will join him in that category with San Jose's game against Pittsburgh tonight.
