PREGAME NOTES:
- After missing the previous seven games due to a nagging lower-body injury, Patrice Bergeron is set to return to the lineup on Monday night, with David Krejci and Charlie Coyle slotting back down at 2C and 3C, respectively.
- Even though Boston still managed to go 5-1-1 during Bergeron’s absence, the Bruins should receive a major lift from No. 37’s return to the lineup in multiple areas — especially on the power play, which is in an 0-for-10 rut.
- Steven Kampfer, who was placed on waivers Sunday as Boston looks to clear some space on the blue line, cleared waivers on Monday and will now report to Providence.
- The Senators are 1-6-0 in their past seven games after going 5-1-0 in their previous six outings. Goalie Anders Nilsson will start for Ottawa. He is 0-4-0 with a 4.77 GAA and .826 save percentage in his past four games.
