PREGAME NOTES:
- Tuesday will stand as the first meeting between the Bruins and Hurricanes since May, when Boston swept the ‘Canes in four games during the Eastern Conference Finals. The Hurricanes have continued to build off of a surprising 2018-19 campaign, with Carolina looking for its fourth win in its past six games.
- Boston’s lineup will primarily remain the same, with Patrice Bergeron set to miss his fifth consecutive game due to a nagging lower-body injury. Bergeron did skate before practice on Tuesday and could be available as early as Saturday, although he is still listed as day to day.
- John Moore has returned from a conditioning stint down in Providence and could be cleared to play on Thursday night against the Blackhawks. The defenseman has yet to play a game this season after undergoing major shoulder surgery during the summer.
- Jaroslav Halak will get the start in net for Boston, with the goalie set to play in his 500th career game.
- Sebastian Aho has been on fire as of late for the Hurricanes, with the pivot now up to 16 points in his last 15 games. Andrei Svechnikov, still just 19 years old, is up to 29 points over 27 games for the ‘Canes, while former Bruin Dougie Hamilton has already tallied 10 goals from the blue line.
