Good morning!
- NBA basketball is back as the season kicked off with a couple of intriguing battles last night with the Raptors rallying in OT against a Zion-less Pelicans team. The Raptors look like a shallow team as they defend their crown but Fred Van Vleet (31 points) stepping up in a bigger offensive role should make them a feisty opponent in the East all year long. Pascal Siakam (34 points) is already playing up to his max deal.
- The main event though was the Lakers-Clippers battle though, which saw the Clippers handily take despite not having Paul George yet. The biggest takeaway from this one beyond the Clippers being the title favorites in my mind is the fact that LeBron James looked a bit more mortal than usual. There was a lot of rust after such a long layoff for him but between turnovers and finishing, he may be started to show his age a little bit. We should find out if it's a fluke or a trend in the coming weeks.
- The Celtics are down in Philly getting ready for their opener against Al Horford and the Sixers now in what should be a very hostile enviornment. Brad Stevens and his staff will be put to the test in this one in trying to combat the Sixers' massive size at all five positions in the starting five.
- Greg has his breakdown of the Jets game.
- Conor takes a look at the Bruins needing to fill a big void in top 6 even after a nice win on Tuesday night.
