PREGAME NOTES:

  • The Bruins are looking to even the score against Toronto after falling in overtime, 4-3, on Saturday night up in Canada. Boston is going to be shorthanded on Tuesday, as David Krejci, Karson Kuhlman and Joakim Nordstrom will all sit out due to injury. Krejci, who suffered an upper-body injury on Oct. 14, was placed on injured reserve Tuesday morning, while Kuhlman’s status is TBD after taking a puck off the leg on Saturday.

  • With Krejci, Kuhlman and Nordstrom out, the Bruins have reshuffled their lines once again. Charlie Coyle will center the second line, while David Backes will slot in on a third line featuring both Par Lindholm and Danton Heinen. Anders Bjork was called up from Providence on an emergency basis, and will start his latest tenure up in the NHL on a line with Sean Kuraly and Chris Wagner.

  • The Bruins should reach a number of milestones on Tuesday — with Tuukka Rask expected to play in his 500th career game. He is 17-7-2 with a .925 save percentage in 29 career games against Toronto. David Pastrnak is also just one point away from 300 for his career — and will be just the fourth player in B’s franchise history to reach 300 points in 350 games played or fewer — joining Barry Pederson (235), Bobby Orr (279) and Ray Bourque (316).

  • The Maple Leafs are closing out a back-to-back set, with Toronto falling to the Blue Jackets in overtime on Monday night. Michael Hutchinson will start in net for the Leafs, with the backup netminder posting an .886 save percentage over three games so far.
