BSJ Daily Briefing 10.22.19: Patriots dominate Jets, trade for Sanu; Jaylen Brown strikes a deal with Celtics

Good morning! 

• The Patriots obliterated the Jets at MetLife Stadium on Monday night, with another dominant effort from the defense eviscerating Sam Darnold and whatever else Adam Gase tried to roll out against New England. At one point in the fourth quarter, Darnold's line was: 9 of 24 for 50 yards, 4 INTs for a 2.8 rating. Darnold also had a fumble and a snap that went out of the end zone for a safety. Yikes.


• While it was far from perfect, the Patriots' offense also showed some signs of improvement on Monday night.


• The Patriots' offense should be even better now that Mohamed Sanu had been added to the WR corps.


• Jaylen Brown became a very, very rich man on Monday.

• The Bruins host the Maple Leafs in a rematch from Saturday's OT loss up in Toronto. Tuukka Rask is set to play in his 500th career game.


• Plenty of great games on elsewhere as well — with Game 1 of the World Series getting underway tonight, while the Pelicans/Raptors and Lakers/Clippers will open the 2019-20 NBA regular season.
