LIVE COVERAGE:

11:15: Bruins win, 2-1. Boston is 1-0 this season. More to come.

11:11: Two minutes to go. Bishop leaving the net.

10:55: Rask robs Hintz - he's now up to 22 saves midway through the third period.

10:41: Chara to the sin bin. Chara off for interference.

10:38: Third period is underway.

10:21: End Second: Bruins lead it, 2-1. Hintz makes it a one-goal game less than a minute after Polak's injury. Boston is still ahead, but Dallas owned that period.

10:17: 4-on-4 hockey after McAvoy is called for interference. Pretty rusty night from the power play, especially the top unit.

10:13: Bruins back on the power play after McAvoy draws an interference call. Boston is due for a tally on the man advantage, would be a great way to turn around a miserable period.

10:05: Bruins head back on the power play, but can't convert.

10:00: Hintz scores just 51 seconds after Polak is taken off the ice. 2-1 game.

9:54: Ugh - that's a whole lot of nasty right there. Roman Polak is still down. Wagner is lucky he didn't get hurt in the play as well.

9:40: Second period is underway.

9:22: End First: Bruins lead the Stars, 2-0. Ritchie and Heinen open the scoring for Boston. SOG in favor of Boston, 6-4.

9:20: Heinen denied on the power play. He very well could have two goals already.

9:15: Bruins back on the power play.

9:01: Kuhlman's got some wheels out there:

8:54: Bruins strike on the power play. Heinen snipes one past Ben Bishop, short side. 2-0 Boston. They're rolling right now.

8:50: Brett Ritchie, who wasn't even supposed to play tonight, scores on his first shot as a Bruin. 1-0 Boston.

8:33: Bruins starters: Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak / Chara-McAvoy / Rask

8:19: Hmm, looks like Lindholm at 2C and Coyle remains at 3C.

8:02: Looks like David Krejci is not on the ice for warmups. I'd expect to see Coyle at 2C and Lindholm at 3C.

PREGAME NOTES

  • While most of Boston’s lineup is ready to roll, David Krejci remains a question mark due to a nagging lower-body injury that he suffered back on Sept. 23. The veteran pivot practiced again Thursday morning, but is officially labeled as a game-time decision for the season opener. If he’s unable to go, look for Charlie Coyle to get a bump up to the second line, while Par Lindholm could center the third line. If Krejci is good to go, it will be Lindholm, not Sean Kuraly, that will skate at center on the fourth line.

  • Tuukka Rask will get the nod in net, with the goalie posting a record of 7-2-2 with a 2.04 goals-against average and .936 save percentage in 11 games against Dallas.

  • The Bruins have had plenty of success against Dallas over the years, posting a record of 5-0-1 in their last six games against the Stars. Boston’s last regulation road loss to Dallas came on Dec. 31, 2011.
