HEADLINES
Revs come from behind to earn point in the Newark ‘burbs: It looked damn ugly at times, dreadful at others, but New England fought, fought, and fought to take a point back up Interstate 95. After New York’s Marc Rzatkowski scored the opener after some lackadaisical defending by the Revolution in the 18th minute, New England managed to pull level with a renewed vigor in the second half thanks to Gustavo Bou’s fourth goal in six appearances, and held on thanks to the work of Matt Turner in goal. The point pushed the Revs to 35 points (9-9-8) through 26 matches with eight to play, yet thanks to other results (Montreal, Toronto, and Orlando City also drawing in their respective matches -- the Lions were ahead, 1-0, on Minnesota United entering second-half stoppage time and ended up sharing the points) the Revs maintain their hold on sixth place. New England is now unbeaten in the last seven road matches (3-0-4), which breaks the club record set by the 2008 team.
Gil-to-Bou salvages the draw: After the first half which saw the Revolution connect on 72 percent of their passes and only 45 percent possession, New England got things worked out to a point, and got the point thanks to the Carles Gil-to-Bou Connection. Bou was onside as Gil played him forward, and the Argentine slotted home to pull New England level in the 65th minute.
