HEADLINES

That’s now nine without a loss: Right now, New England’s favorite soccer sons are hotter than the heat index in Central Massachusetts. Thanks to a 4-0 win over lowly Vancouver at Gillette on Wednesday night, the Revolution moved their unbeaten streak to nine straight games, matching the club’s high-water streak in week Nos. 3-through-11 in 2015. The win moved the Revs up to eighth place and are now 7-8-6 with 27 points. New England is also 6-0-2 against Western Conference teams, including five consecutive wins.

Bou goes boom in his debut: The Revolution owned the first 45 minutes, holding possession for just about 64 percent of the time — they peaked at about 78 percent in the first 10 minutes — and poured on the offense, with 17 total shots; six were blocked, and four were on-target. It was the last one that counted, as newcomer Gustavo Bou, on a stoppage-time corner kick, rushed and half-volleyed Carles Gil’s service into the Upper 90, an absolute lightning strike, to give the Revs a deserved 1-0 lead at the half.

Fagundez scores first of the season, while Gil and Bunbury pile on in the last 10 minutes:
