The 2019 NHL Draft is finally here, and BSJ will keep you covered with the latest picks and big trades over the course of the next two days. Feel free to get things going in the comments as we wait to see what the Bruins do with their five selections, starting with the 30th overall pick on Friday night.
6:00: Final reports on both Mantykivi and Schmaltz can be found here. Thanks for following along! We'll have plenty more to break down from the draft later tonight on BSJ.
5:02: Bruins take F Jake Schmaltz with Pick No. 192.
4:53: The Bruins select Matias Mäntykivi, a forward, with the 185th overall pick.
4:35: More thoughts on Bychkov here:
4:18: Bruins go with D Roman Bychkov with the 154th overall pick. Left-shot defenseman was ranked No. 87 overall by FC Hockey.
4:14: Bruins are back on the clock with pick No. 154.
3:45: Quick scouting look at Olson:
3:04: Bruins draft forward Quinn Olson with the 92nd pick. Olson was ranked by the NHL Network as the No. 200th overall prospect. FC Hockey had him at No. 192.
2:58: Bruins are on the clock with the No. 92 pick.
2:03: Caps get great value with Brett Leason at No. 56. Avs and Habs have had the best draft so far, IMO.
1:19: We'll have plenty of breakdowns later today on the Subban trade / Marleau trade and now, the Canucks taking J.T. Miller off of the Lightning's hands.
1:19: Kaliyev to the Kings. Great value for them.
1:16: Annnnnnd here we go. Ottawa Senators on the clock now. Bruins next up in the third round.
11:06: Rounds 2-7 are set to start back up at 1:00 p.m. today. Could see plenty of movement, considering so many intriguing prospects dropped into the second round.
11:15: Bruins draft John Beecher with the 30th skater. Great wheels, big body. A nice pick, although I think they leave some big names on the board. We'll have a scouting report up soon.
11:08: Ducks go with Tracey. Bruins are on the clock.
11:01: Suzuki off the board - Carolina with the pick at No. 28.
11:00: One of Kaliyev, Suzuki and Brink will be available to the Bruins at No. 30. Didn't think any of them would be around at this point.
10:44: Caps go with Connor McMichael at No. 25. Arthur Kaliyev continues to slide. Didn't really think he'd be down this far in the first round.
10:21: Penguins go with the power forward in Samuel Poulin at No. 21 overall. Another player I had tabbed for the Bruins.
10:09: Great pickup for the Senators with Lassi Thomson at No. 19. Hoped that he would fall to Boston. Dynamic, right-shot defenseman.
9:56: Krebs' slide stops. He goes to Vegas. Great value for him.
9:45: Habs with the steal of the draft with Caufield. He's going to make a ton of teams pay for not taking him.
9:38: Cam York to the Flyers at No. 14. Caufield is still waiting. ...
9:31: Spencer Knight to the Panthers. Top goalie prospect is off the board.
9:26: Millis native and BC commit Matt Boldy goes to Minnesota at No. 12 overall. Had a chance to talk with him earlier this year:

9:15: We have a trade. Philly trades No. 11 overall to Arizona. Yotes send No. 14 and No. 45 this year. And they take Soderstrom, the defenseman. Blue liners have been a premium commodity, even if most are going far beyond their projected value.
9:11: Vasili Podkolzin to the Canucks at No. 10 overall. He's going to spend at least 2 years in the KHL.
9:06: Great value for the Ducks with Trevor Zegras at No. 9. Also a BU guy, so they can't go wrong. :)
9:00: Oilers go with defenseman Philip Broberg with Pick No. 8. Ehhhhhhh. He was projected to go into the teens.
8:54: Dylan Cozens to the Sabres. The pride of Whitehorse, Yukon.
8:50: Wow. Seider to the Red Wings at No. 6. Sabres are going to have a TON of great options at No. 7.
8:43: Alex Turcotte to the Kings at No. 5. Great center prospect, but will likely get some seasoning at Wisconsin.
8:36: Bowen Byram to the Avs. Joins a great young blue line with Cale Makar.
8:31: Kirby Dach goes No. 3 to the Blackhawks. Opts for the big center over Turcotte / Byram.
8:27: Kaapo Kakko to the Rangers — don't think they're gonna be mad with that.
8:20: In a shocking development, it's Jack Hughes to the Devils.
8:11: Gary Bettman takes the stage ... annnnnnd he's booed.
8:03: Annnnnnd here we go.
