Bedard's Daily Briefing 05.22.19: 'Ok Bruins, play the Blues...'

Good morning!

A few random thoughts while I wonder if anyone got that U2 Rattle and Hum reference ...

For those that didn't, this is the first thing that popped into my mind when the Bruins' Stanley Cup opponent was finally determined...

I'm a child of the 80s, what do you want?

• So the Blues completely blew the doors off the depleted Sharks again to win the Western Conference and set up a Cup showdown with the Bruins.


• Conor takes an early look at the matchup. Much more to come.


• Like the idea of the scrimmage and that the Bruins kept the cost down. Letting some kids get an up-close view of the Bruins in the Garden ... you have no idea what that will mean to them.


• Of course, you can go to any practice at Warrior Ice Arena and view for free as well.


• I think it's really good news for the Bruins that the Blues won in six games. Both teams will have lengthy layoffs and will be rusty.'


• Impressive what the Blues have done this season. They're a lot more talented than the Hurricanes. Series probably comes down to the goaltenders. Tuukka's been better in the postseason, but Binnington is no slouch for a rookie.


• Zdeno Chara is an interesting cat.


• Thank goodness finally said it ... why is Tyler Thornburg still on the Red Sox' roster?


• Red Sox and E-Rod were bombed last night in Toronto.


• Kyrie rumor mill.


• Good to see Edelman get some more upfront money. We've been pushing for that since February.
