The worst series of Kyrie Irving's career ended with an embarrassing thud on Wednesday night as he scored just 15 points on 6-of-21 shooting with a team-low minus 25 plus/minus in a crushing 116-91 loss to the Bucks. Irving was far from the only player who struggled on the worst shooting night of the year for the Celtics with Al Horford (4-of-13), Jayson Tatum (3-of-10) and Gordon Hayward (3-of-9) and Jaylen Brown (3-of-9) all giving the C’s next to nothing on the offensive end in a must-win game. Giannis Antetokounmpo led six different Bucks scorers with 20 points in a balanced offensive effort as they cruised for the second half after building a double-digit lead in the tail end of the first half.
The Bucks win the best-of-seven series 4-1, advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals while the C's see their season comes to a close with four straight ugly losses.
- Stevens starts with Baynes at center instead of Morris and it’s a move that pays off with defense in slowing down Giannis.
- However, C’s can go no offense going with Baynes on the floor as he’s a minus 22 in the first half with the lack of spacing he provides
- Complete no show from Kyrie on both ends early who has 13 points on 5-of-16 shooting. His defensive lapses have been just as numerous as the last couple of games.
- Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown both playing too much hero ball with their shot selection, with a combined five points in the opening few minutes.
- C;s shoot 24 percent from the field and 13 percent from 3-point range in the first half with no one hitting more than one 3s.
- Stevens is going to have to ride his bench unit (Smart/Hayward/Morris) along with Horford and whoever else commits to defense in this game to have a chance in the second half.
- C’s lose their composure towards the end of the first half with Horford getting a tech after a non call on Giannis

- Malcolm Brogdon has been upgraded to probable and will likely come off the bench for the Bucks in his first action of the postseason.

- Kyrie Irving's questionable defensive choices left Celtics exposed in Game 4
