All you need to know about the Revolution’s 6-1 loss to Philadelphia Union on Saturday night in quickie form, complete with BSJ insight and analysis:

HEADLINES

Five second-half Philly goals the difference: There’s nothing else to say but complete annihilation on the banks of the Delaware River. The events of Christmas 1776 on this waterway weren't this bad. Philadelphia scored five times in the second half, with Ilsinho, Sergio Santos (two goals in five minutes after coming on for Fafa Picault), Kacper Przybylko, and David Accam making the onion bag burp, with only one of those goals, really, on the shoulders of Revolution keeper Cody Cropper. While Philadelphia had 15 shots on target in the game, the Revs had four — and they were all in the first half. The Revs have now given up 25 goals this season, and 10 in the last 180 minutes. Saturday’s result is the worst Revolution loss since the 6-1 defeat at the hands of Orlando City SC in Orlando on Sept. 27, 2017.

TWO TAKES THAT SWEENS MAY REGRET LATER

I wonder how many calls the Revolution season ticket hotline will get on Monday for cancellations.

At least the Revs have three extra hours of recovery time than Chicago does?

QUOTABLE QUOTES

“It’s time for us to end the excuses. We’re all professional; we have to do better. Even not having guys on suspension, we have to step up. The first half was great, we should have buried a couple of more chances… the second half, we give up a terrible goal, our heads go down, we get back in it a little bit, they get the third and the fourth. It’s embarrassing. It’s unacceptable from us.”
