FOXBOROUGH — When Arizona State receiver N’Keal Harry was drafted with the final pick in the first round by the Patriots Thursday night, ASU coach Herm Edwards almost jumped off his couch.
“I call (Tom) Brady, ‘Captain America’ — my wife loves him,” Edwards told BostonSportsJournal.com. “I yelled, ‘N’Keal gets to go catch passes from Captain America!’
“We were sitting here watching things,” Edwards said of Thursday’s opening round. “I had talked to some other teams, and I knew that once they got past that first Seattle pick at No. 30, I was wondering if Bill (Belichick) was going to sit on that pick at No. 32 or trade out, because you know Bill loves to trade out.
“But they stuck at 32, and they got him. It was all smiles for us after that.”
