Bedard's Daily Briefing 04.24.19: Leafs reveal themselves, bring on Columbus, Sox stink again taken at BSJ Headquarters (Regular Features)

Good afternoon! (Better late than never ... late night at The Garden and then had some things to take care of)

A few random thoughts while contemplate the magnitude of a Boston sports sweep...

  • The Bruins are moving with a fairly convincing 5-1 victory against the Leafs.

  • I say fairly because Toronto carried the play for the first two periods, they just made three huge mistakes and the Bruins were Johnnies on the spot.

  • Both teams were terrible getting the puck out of their zone. Toronto's D finally turned into the pumpkin we knew they were.

  • Tuukka Rask was sensational ... and, yes, it was about time. He'll need to be this good for the Bruins to beat Columbus.

  • Don Sweeney looks like a genius after the first four goals come from the bottom-six forwards.

  • David Pastrnak and Charlie McAvoy were turnover machines.

  • Make no mistake, the Leafs choked. Those first two turnovers and Frederik Andersen's allowed goal on the post showed that.

  • I'm not sure which was better, the Patriots' defense in the Super Bowl or the Bruins' in the last 12 minutes last night.

  • Boy, are the Red Sox happy the Bruins were playing last night. Getting swept?!

  • Draft prep rolls on...
