PREGAME NOTES:
- The Bruins will look to close out their six-game homestand with a perfect 6-0-0 record when they take on the cellar-dwelling Senators on Saturday. Boston has not lost in regulation since Jan. 19, and have also won nine straight games at TD Garden — their longest winning streak on home ice since the 2008-09 season.
- Three of Boston’s regular top-six contributors are still out of commission for Saturday’s matchup in David Pastrnak, Jake DeBrusk and Marcus Johansson — with both Pastrnak and Johansson unlikely to travel on the B’s upcoming three-game road trip.
- “Johansson is going to get re-evaluated Tuesday, so he will not travel,” Bruce Cassidy said. “(Kevan) Miller and Pastrnak won’t — they’ll skate here. Pasta will. Kevan, I’m not sure when he’s back skating. Jake is the one I’m not sure on, because he didn’t skate today. He’s not playing tonight, not tomorrow if he didn’t skate today, unless there’s something miraculous. He may travel, because he’s the closest to returning to the lineup, from my understanding.”
- While Karson Kuhlman earned a nod up at the NHL ranks on Thursday against the Panthers, veteran Lee Stempniak will get a spin up in Boston for tonight’s matchup. The winger has skated at Warrior Ice Arena for most of this season without a contract before inking a deal with the B’s on Feb. 24 that would last for the remainder of the year. The 36-year-old forward tallied two goals and posted five points over seven games played with Providence since signing his contract.
- After dealing most of their top assets at the deadline, the Senators are 2-10-1 in their last 13 games and have relinquished at least four goals in five of their last six games. Ottawa is 0-6-1 in its last seven meetings against Boston.
