If you’ve followed our coverage during the offseason — and if you’re waiting for an engraved invitation to subscribe so you can see what’s going on beyond the paywall, then consider this your engraved invitation — you’ll know we’ve been tracking all the moves and have shown how we believe the Revs’ Composite Roster breakdown will look come March 2 and the season opener against FC Dallas.
While we’re still awaiting a couple more moves this week — i.e. the official signing of SuperDraft selection DeJuan Jones, the official announcement of Giles Phillips’ loan move from Queens Park Rangers, should they happen — here’s how we’re seeing the roster as we approach Opening Kick 2019.

* — denotes unsigned player that we are expecting the club to sign
Should the Revolution pull the trigger and sign Jones (UPDATED: They signed Jones Monday morning) and take Phillips on loan (WestLondonSport.com reported on Feb. 5 that the move is done, so now we’re just in wait mode for the Revs to announce it), the club would have 27 players under contract for 2019. Should those two moves occur, we’re expecting them to be placed on the Reserve Roster; Phillips could conceivably be placed on the Senior Roster due to his QPR contract.
If they don’t sign those two, they will be at 25 rostered players. The Revs had 26 on the roster a year ago at this time, including Lee Nguyen, now at LAFC.
At present, the Revolution have used 7 of its 8 international roster slots, have two slots on its Senior Roster open and, by our count, potentially one, maybe two, slots on the Reserve Roster available.
We’ll see if Revs general manager Michael Burns agrees with our vision as we draw closer to Roster Compliance.
