Bedard's Daily Briefing 02.25.19: NHL trade deadline, Celtics hit new low

Good morning!

A few random thoughts while I wonder if this weekend in Boston sports was just to keep us honest...

• It started on Friday with the RKK news and then wrapped up Saturday night with the Celtics blowout loss to the horrible Bulls — yes, seriously. In between the Bruins lost a hard-fought game to the red-hot Blues.


• So, yeah, New England has seen better sports weekend.


• Of course, Mr. Excitement, Don Sweeney, is here to rescue us all because he's going to pull off some great trade before the deadline at 3 p.m.


• Right?


• No, I don't have a high level of confidence and ... I'm OK with that. Have you seen some of the asking prices for these players? Yikes. I might be OK sitting this one out. I doubt they're beating the Lightning even with a new piece. That being said, you'd like to have a chance to knock off the Lightning. They don't have that right now.


• Back to the Celtics ... what the hell? The longer this goes on, the more te pressure is going to ramp up on Brad Stevens, who obviously isn't sure what to do when he has a full roster.


• A penny for Danny Ainge's thoughts...


• And Ainge messed up not trading Terry Rozier. This is not working.
