Brendan Daly, who was the defensive line coach with the Patriots the last four seasons, is leaving New England for a job with the Chiefs.
Daly, who was a part of the staff in New England since 2014, is the latest in a string of assistant coaches who have departed since the Super Bowl. Defensive coordinator Brian Flores left to become the head coach in Miami, and wide receiver coach Chad O'Shea followed him to become the Dolphins' new OC. In addition, Josh Boyer (cornerbacks) and Jerry Schuplinski (assistant quarterbacks coach) will also be a part of Flores' staff in Miami.
The 43-year-old Daly, a smart and passionate part of the New England coaching staff, was thought of as DC material by some of his players, who said as much in the days leading to the Super Bowl. For a look at some possibilities to move up the coaching ladder, there are a number of coaching assistants who might get the call from New England in the coming days.
