CLEVELAND -- When it comes to Jayson Tatum and aggression, the 2018-19 regular season has been a bit underwhelming, to say the least. After going through an offseason that was focused on building strength so he could absorb more contract in traffic, there’s been a bit of a good news/bad news twist to how he has responded to that work in his second NBA season.
The good news? Tatum’s finishing much better at the rim, shooting 69 percent from the field inside of three feet, a seven percent jump from his rookie mark. However, that development has been overshadowed by games that have been filled with questionable shot selection. Tatum is going to the rim 25 percent less than he did last season and has instead settled for more midrange shots than ever, a choice that has not worked out well from a percentages standpoint.
