Final: Celtics 134, Thunder 129 -- C's win fourth straight behind elite offense

Kyrie Irving (30 points, 11 assists) led eight different Celtics in double figures as Boston closed out Paul George (37 points) and the Oklahoma City Thunder with a 134-129 victory at the Garden in a thrilling matinee. Boston shot a season-high 59.3 percent from the field in the victory, while Irving posted his fourth straight double-double in the midst of Boston's fourth straight win overall. Daniel Theis filled in for an injured Aron Baynes (bruised foot) admirably off the bench with 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting as seven different Celtics scored between 10 and 19 points in the win.

C's hit the road to Cleveland after the victory to try to win their 11th game over the last 12 games on Tuesday night.

First Half Notes

• Thunder's offense comes out in a bit of a rut, shooting just 25 percent from the field over the first six minutes with missed free throws and a pair of turnovers (caused by Smart steals).


• C's doing nice with their offensive pacing, opening with five nine makes in the first seven minutes while doing a lot damage from the interior, Eight of their first 10 makes coming from inside the arc against a lackluster Thunder defense.


• Irving/Morris/Horford doing the heavy lifting early for the C's offense, all scoring six plus points in the first quarter.


• Smart making some nice passes in the pick-and-roll.


• Stevens gives a longer leash to the staters in the early going, waiting until the nine-minute mark.


• Some impressive bench minutes yet again from Jaylen Brown, who continues to get closer to his last season form with far improved efficiency from inside the arc and downtown.


• Paul George finishes with 17 first half points but C's do a very nice job keeping tabs on Russell Wesbtrook in the first half (2-of-9 shooting).


• Irving put on an absolute show in the first half (20 points, 4 assists) and went a perfect 9-of-9 from inside the arc.

• Aron Baynes is expected to be out to the All-Star Break after the team shut him down in the wake of his soreness in his left foot. A foot contusion was revealed after an MRI and Baynes will be out for the next few weeks.


• The Celtics have won eight of their last nine games overall and 11 of their last 12 at the TD Garden.


• The Thunder come into town as the hottest team in the win, with victories in seven straight games. They are also fully healthy outside of shooting guard Andre Robertson.
