Bedard's Daily Briefing 01.02.19: Bruins Winter win a sign of things to come? Celtics ... sigh

Good morning!

A few random thoughts while I wonder if there are teams the Patriots' coordinators are not interviewing with...

• The Bruins' 4-2 win over the Blackhawks at Notre Dame was a ton fun. From the setting to the back and forth action, it was good stuff.


• I can't get enough of Sean Kuraly's celebrations flying into the corner boards. It's like being at a high school game.


• Patrice Bergeron is just amazing.


• So the hope is that the Bruins can take the Buffalo comeback win and Tuesday's result, put it together win a home-heavy January schedule and go on a big run. Outside of Charlie McAvoy being out, I don't see why they can't. No more excuses. I don't want to hear anything about China.


• Of course, they have to make a deal for another forward. Can we not get another has-been like Rick Nash or Jarome Iginla?


• Speaking of hockey, don't forget that Team USA is playing at 8 p.m. in the World Juniors quarterfinals. Bruins prospects Jakub Lauko and Daniel Bukac are playing for Team Pasta-Krejci.


• They may go deep into the playoffs, but I'm just about out on these Celtics after another loss. They have no rudder. After one decent playoff run, they think they can just flip the switch whenever they want.


• B-Robb's questions for 2019.


• I'll be on with Felger & Mazz on Thursday this week.


• Looks for my Breakdown on Jets-Patriots a little after Noon. Some of you might not like what I have to say, but I'm just trying to be honest.
