LIVE COVERAGE:
7:47: Final: Bruins fall to Carolina, 5-3. That's a brutal way to go into the break.
7:41: Bruins heading to the power play with 2:40 left in regulation.
7:35: Pardon the rough wi-fi - but YIKES with this game. A horrid miscue by Rask leads to Carolina's 5th goal, then Boston is called for too many men.
7:14: Donato draws a penalty. He's been fantastic today.
7:05: Third period underway.
7:02: David Pastrnak at 5v5 play tonight: 9:01 TOI 12.50 Corsi-For Percentage Bruins outshot, 6-1 Hurricanes lead in scoring chances, 7-1 Eeeeeek.
6:49: End Second: Bruins trail Carolina, 4-3. Ugly stuff for most of that stanza, but that Donato goal looks like it gave the team a boost late.
6:44: Another look at Donato's tally. Great zone entry by Cave and breakout pass by Backes.
Not stopping that.

- Expect plenty of Brass Bonanza tonight, as the Hurricanes will wear Hartford Whalers throwback jerseys for Sunday’s matchup. They will wear them again when they travel up to Boston for a matchup in March.
- Tuukka Rask will make his first start in net since Dec. 16, with Jaroslav Halak earning the last three starts for the B’s. In his career against Carolina, Rask is 9-3-3 with a .933 save percentage.
- While Cassidy noted that Jake DeBrusk had a chance to play today, he will sit out once again. He has not played since Dec. 6 due to a concussion. Cassidy also mentioned that both Kevan Miller and Zdeno Chara could also be in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Devils.
- While a young Hurricanes clubs are one of the most aggressive teams in the league (37.5 shots per game, 1st in NHL), they are just 2-6-1 in December.
