Bedard's Daily Briefing 12.12.18: Bruins edge Coyotes as top line (again) carries scoring, Red Sox tweaking, Steelers loom

Good morning!

A few random thoughts while I wonder what The Timelord will do tonight for an encore ... 

• A penny for the thoughts expressed by Bruce Cassidy to his team after they fell behind 2-0 after the first period to the Coyotes last night.


• Because then they came out and scored four goals in the second and eventually won 4-3.


• Not to be a party pooper but ...

• I guess the thinking is "Well, once Bergeron comes back, Krejci can bring his hot touch to the second line and, boom, they have more secondary scoring."


• Color me dubious.


• Conor thinks the JFK line is heating up. That would be nice as well.


• Alex Cora is going to swap Andrew Benintendi and Mookie Betts at the top of the lineup. Love it.


• And I love how Cora never stops thinking ... of course, this could just be an edict from the nerds.


• Not worried about the relief corps. Not one bit.


• We'll have a bunch of stuff coming on the Patriots today starting with Doc Flynn's checkup, my breakdown, contributions from DK in Pittsburgh and Chris Price down at Gillette.
