Bedard's Weekend Briefing 12.07.18: Celtics win, Bruins lose again; Pats ready for Miami taken at BSJ Headquarters (Regular Features)

(Adam Richins for BSJ)

Good morning!

A few random thoughts while I thank the heavens that I'm not playing Titans RB Derrick Henry in my fantasy football playoffs...

  • So the Celtics won their fourth straight game and, more importantly, did so with Jaylen Brown back in the lineup (you're almost rotating players at this point to find out, 'OK, was he the problem?' Next up: Aron Baynes ... kidding).

  • Brown was sensational in the game. He immediately started getting back to attacking the rim and you couldn't get more efficient: 21 points in 25 minutes. Great return by him.

  • Now, as B-Robb pointed out, it's time to make hay against this schedule and get back into the East race.

  • Meanwhile, the Bruins lost a game they had little chance of winning against the loaded Lightning.

  • Charlie McAvoy returned and largely looked good. Man, was his transition game missed.

  • But the Bruins have lost three straight in regulation and are falling behind in the East.

  • Count me on board with the Nathan Eovaldi signing. It's not my money and the Red Sox have no young arms on the way.

  • Great stuff from Coach Cory Bailey on the Patriots' "radar" pass rush.

  • Time for them to take care of business in Miami.
