Great play by Cave to intercept the feed from McDonagh and put a puck on net.

- After a two-game losing streak, Bruce Cassidy shook up his lineup once again, with Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson slotting in for Chris Wagner and centering a line between Ryan Donato and Noel Acciari. It will be the first game for “JFK” since Nov. 26, with the young center scratched due to a lack of “compete”.
- Connor Clifton will also sit out in place of Steven Kampfer on the blue line, with the young blue liner assigned to Providence to make room for Charlie McAvoy, who will not play tonight but was activated from injured reserve.
- Tuukka Rask will get the start in net for the Bruins tonight, with the B’s netminder posting a 16-7-1 record with a .908 save percentage in 24 career games against the Lightning.
- Even without Andrei Vasilevskiy (left foot fracture) in net, Tampa Bay is still on a roll, winning four in a row and nine of its last 11 matchups. This stands as the first matchup between the Bruins and Lightning since the second round of the 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
- The Lightning have few flaws on their roster, boasting a blue line with Victor Hedman and Ryan Mcdonagh and a forward corps with two of the top five scorers in the NHL in Nikita Kucherov (42 points) and Brayden Point (37 points). Tampa Bay currently leads all NHL teams with 114 goals on the year.
- Goalie Louis Domingue will start in place of Vasilevskiy on Thursday, with the netminder posting a record of 3-0-0 with a 2.95 goals-against average and .882 save percentage in his last three starts.
