BSJ Holiday Briefing 11.21.18: Gotham baits Gronk, C's host Knicks, big weekend for Bruins

Good morning!

A few random thoughts while I try to figure out who will be the next Bruins veteran to suffer an injury...

• Ok, so we can all agree that the Celtics are in real trouble if they lose to the Knicks at home tonight, right?

• Big weekend for the Bruins, who will be without Patrice Bergeron (in addition to Zdeno Chara) for a while: at Detroit tonight, Penguins home Friday and then Montreal/Toronto on Saturday and Monday. Need to find a way to grind out some points.

• Gotta love Manish and the NY Daily News...

• Manish knows what he's doing. He knows that if he writes something outrageous about the Patriots, that certain sports radio hosts and a segment of Patriots fans will lose their collective minds, and click and talk about him. That's exactly what he wants.

• Let me save you the click. What Manish writes isn't wrong ... Gronk is hurting, he's not close to his former self and the Patriots are likely to bid him adieu after this season. That's it.

• But this will probably blow up in the Jets' face. I wouldn't be surprised to see Gronk go off on Sunday, and it might a last hurrah of sorts. I don't know if he can hold out this season.

• In case you missed my appearance on Felger & Mazz, you missed an epic 10 questions where Mike posed this question: Who would you like as the next quarterback of the New England Patriots?

• So I took this literally ... someone who might be available in the next couple of years. So I said Marcus Mariota, who I think just needs good coaching and a stable environment (Derek Carr would have been my second choice). And from the reaction, you would have thought I suggested Tim Tebow.

• Who did the other three geniuses suggest? Carson Wentz (Mazz, not realisitic). C.J. Beathard (Murray). BLAKE BORTLES (Felger).

• I'm surrounded by idiots.
