Welcome to first and 10, a roundup of all the (mostly) Patriots-related news you need to start your Friday. Grab your coffee and let’s get to it.
We're going to keep it short today because people are ready to get their bye weekend started. Go outside and make like Lonie Paxton if you got enough snow Thursday night, although it might be more slush than anything at this point.
Now, on with the links...
1. Greg has a really interesting column -- if the Patriots are able to go from where they are right now to a Super Bowl win, what will have to go right? A worthwhile piece.
2. Our latest picks. Just trying to get better every week...
3. Devin and Jason McCourty tell Tom E. Curran they're amused by the latest rush to bury Tom Brady. “For me, that just comes with the territory of reaching that level of greatness,” Jason McCourty said. “As soon as (he's) a tad bit off everybody goes down in the dumps.”
4. Mike Reiss writes on how Brady is looking forward to getting a healthy Rob Gronkowski back in the huddle. "I’ve played a lot of football with him and I think I have a lot of trust and confidence in a lot of the things that have happened over the years," Brady said of the big tight end. "When he’s not there, there’s a different level with other players. Sometimes we don’t try things because Gronk isn’t in there. Sometimes we do."
5. Our pal Erik Scalavino profiles Jack Easterby, one of the most influential pieces of the Patriots' franchise, but a guy who doesn't get the public accolades.
Extra Point:
Kenny Britt putting out a fire on a small mtn that caught fire right next to his house. By putting it out using a water jug, he saved his home and his neighbors. #WoolseyFire #Calabasas #KennyBritt pic.twitter.com/Eh4r9lqnGH
