LIVE COVERAGE
9:48: Final: Bruins 5, Maple Leafs 1. More to come.
9:43: Two hat tricks over the span of 12 games for David Pastrnak. The record for most hat tricks in a single Bruins season is seven. (Phil Esposito, 1970-71).
9:40: Joakim Nordstrom lights the lamp less than a minute after Pastrnak's hat trick. 5-1 Bruins.
9:37: David Pastrnak - again. Hat trick once again for the winger. 4-1.
9:31: B's back on the power play. John Moore takes a high stick from Kapanen. It's a four-minute double minor.
9:30: Slowly but surely, the B's are catching up in SOG. Leafs still in front, 34-28.
9:26: Great play by Chara to clean up a loose puck near the post and fish it out of danger. Halak out of position off the initial stop.
9:18: David Krejci takes a scary dive into the Leafs' post. He appears to be ok and shaking it off.
9:10: We're underway in the third period.
8:53: END SECOND: Bruins lead the Leafs, 3-1. SOG in favor of Toronto, 3-1.
8:52: Where can the Bruins get a guy like that? John Tavares converts just as the power play expires with 30 seconds left in the second. 3-1 Bruins.
8:45: Carlo gets into a shoving match with Kapanen, and is then sent to the box for roughing. Hmmm. B's head to the PK.
8:33: Another look at Pasta' second goal of the night.
I mean, c'mon.

- The Bruins shuffled up their third and fourth lines once again, with Jakob Forsbacka Karlsson centering Anders Bjork and Danton Heinen on the third line and David Backes slotting down to the fourth line and skating on the wing with Chris Wagner and Sean Kuraly. Noel Acciari will be a healthy scratch against Toronto.

- The Bruins recalled goaltender Dan Vladar up from Providence on emergency basis Saturday morning, with the 21-year-old netminder set to serve as a backup while Tuukka Rask is away from the club on a leave of absence. Through seven games with the P-Bruins this season, Vladar is 2-3-1 with a 2.52 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.
- For the second day in a row, Charlie McAvoy skated early at Warrior Ice Arena, getting some reps alongside fellow injured Bruins blue liners in Kevan Miller and Urho Vaakanainen.
- Even without Auston Matthews (shoulder) and William Nylander (contract holdout), the Leafs have been on a roll, ranking second in the Eastern Conference with 22 points on the year.
- Anchored up top by its big free-agent get in John Tavares, Toronto ranks second in the NHL with 57 goals on the year, while the Leafs boast the fifth-ranked power play at just over 27 percent. The Leafs have dominant on the road this season, posting a record of 6-0-0 on the year away from Scotiabank Arena.
- Does Bruce Cassidy expect any hard feelings from Toronto after last year’s playoff series? "I hope so,” he said. “I hope they're juiced up to play us and they probably have a bone to pick, the way it ended here, Game 7. Our guys should be ready to go. I think, last year, you started to see a budding rivalry with some good, young talent on each team. I'm looking forward to it."
