For those of you like me who have become slightly obsessed with Trent Brown’s consecutive snap streak — he and Joe Thuney are the only two guys who have played every possible snap on either side of the ball this year — there was some good news on Friday, as the big left tackle was on the field. (He had missed Wednesday and Thursday with what the team was calling an illness.) That’s a slightly encouraging sign when it comes to his availability on Sunday.
The only guy who wasn’t spotted was rookie cornerback Duke Dawson. (UPDATE: He told multiple reporters he was in attendance.) The deadline to activate him for this week’s game is Saturday at 4 p.m., so that might be an indication he’s not completely ready to go when it comes to this week. (It likely means the status quo will continue when it comes to the cornerback depth chart, at least until after the bye week.)
In addition, there was a new No 17 spotted on the field. Sounds like it’s Damoun Patterson, who would take the lone practice squad spot that’s still open.
