Jaylen Brown traveled with the team to Indiana on Friday and told reporters in Indiana that he is planning on giving it a go for tonight's showdown with the 6-3 Pacers.

The shooting guard has been dealing with a plantar fasciitis in his right foot which sidelined him for Thursday's win over the Bucks.

"It’s pain across the foot, so any time I put pressure down, when I take off or run, I feel pain shoot around the foot," Brown explained earlier this week. "If it was a playoff game, I’d definitely be trying to play through it, but the concern is we have an 82-game season, so they are kind of reeling me back, but we’ll see how it goes."

The foot issue has lasted for about a week for Brown before the training staff held him out on Thursday. The 22-year-old will go through warmups on Saturday evening before a final decision is made.

"I don’t think it’s anything that’s going to keep me out long-term, I just have to manage it properly, keep it from flaring up. I definitely want to be on the floor as much as possible and continue to stay in rhythm, because it’s going to be a challenge all year to staying in rhythm," Brown said.

Williams debuts in Maine and returns to Celtics on Saturday

It's going to be quite a busy 24 hours for the rookie big man, who made his debut in the G-League in Portland on Friday night for the Maine Red Claws. The No. 27 overall pick posted 11 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks in 24 minutes against the Westchester Knicks.

Williams was back in Indy on Saturday morning for shootaround, getting the call back to the big club less than 12 hours later. He had a 4:20 a.m. wakeup call to make the flight to Indiana, which included a connection in Detroit.

With Daniel Theis out of the lineup, the C's young center has proven valuable enough that the team can't afford to have him away for an extended run. He's been called on in spot duty over the past week when foul trouble hit Al Horford and Aron Baynes and the same could be true tonight against an athletic Pacers squad.
