FOXBOROUGH — Defensive play-caller Brian Flores touched on a bunch of different topics in his meeting with the media on Thursday, but his best stuff was likely a few of the individual personnel assessments he had on a handful of players midway through the 2018 season.
On rookie cornerback Duke Dawson: “Since we drafted Duke, he’s come in and worked hard. He’s tried to pick up our terminology. Our scheme. I think he’s done a good job of that. Works hard. It’s important to him. He’s obviously had some setbacks, but he’s back in the fold now, and just working to get better every day. That’s really the goal for him, to try and improve every day. Every facet — whether it’s the run game, the pass game. Playing the deep ball. At the line of scrimmage with his footwork. There’s plenty for him to work just like there is for everyone on the team. I think he’s working hard to do that. If he continues to do that,I think he can carve out a nice role for himself.”
