The Bruins will look to get back on track Tuesday, as Boston heads down to Carolina to take on one of the biggest surprises in the league in the Carolina Hurricanes. Follow along for updates from Tuesday’s game:

9:44: Empty net for the Canes, who have attempted an absurd 73 shots tonight.
9:21: Brad Marchand, again. He fights through Williams and notches the wraparound goal to give Boston the lead. 3-2 game with just over 14 minutes to go in regulation.
9:18: Halak with a glove stop on Williams. 14:48 to go in regulation.
9:14: Hurricanes kill the penalty.
9:10: Third period underway.
8:55: End Second: Bruins and Hurricanes are tied, 2-2. B's will have 1:38 on the power play to start the third. Hurricanes had five skaters out on Marchand's power-play tally.
8:52: Bergeron with a crazy sequence, breaking up a rush off a backcheck before feeding the puck down the ice and setting up Marchand for a power-play snipe. 2-2 game.
8:49: Bruins get a power play after Heinen is tripped in the final minute
8:47: Hurricanes capitalize again, with Dougie Hamilton blasting one past Halak off a face-off win. 2-1 Carolina with 1:24 to go in the second.
8:44: Moore whistled for a delay of game. Hurricanes get another look on the power play with a little over two minutes left in the second.
8:43: Hurricanes outshooting the B's, 31-15, with 3:48 to go in the second.
8:35: That's the first Bruins goal in 106:51 of ice time.
8:33: GOAL: Bruins capitalize on the power play, with Pastrnak taking a feed from Krug and burying it. 1-1 game.
8:30: Nordstrom on the top line with Bergeron and Marchand.
8:25: Looks like Cassidy is switching up his lines. Pastrnak out with Krejci and Heinen.
8:24: Bruins with just two shots on goal through nine minutes in the second period.
8:17: Marchand penalty is over. Acciari and Kuraly with a good chance on a 2-on-1 during that stretch. Both PKs looking iffy so far.
8:13: Marchand heads to the box for a slash on Hamilton. Hurricanes back on the power play.
8:10: Halak bailing out the Bruins three times on their own power play. Not great.
8:09: Donato tries to center it but it's cleared in the slot. Halak gloves a chance down the other end of the ice.
8:08: Slavin slashes Marchand and we have a power play at 1:01 in the first.

7:48: END FIRST: Some solid chances from the B's top-six, but Boston has its work cut out for it against a speedy Hurricanes team.
7:46: Hurricanes head back on the PK. Carlo sent off for a slash.
7:45: With that assist, Sebastian Aho is just the third player in NHL history to open a season with an assist in 12 straight games. The other two players? A fella named Gretzky (1982-83) and Ken Linseman (Bruins, 1985-86).
7:42: Hurricanes score just 8 seconds in. Halak loses track of the puck and a scrum in the slot leads to a goal from Ferland.
7:40: B's now heading on the PK. Lauzon called for a trip.
7:37: Carlo steals the puck and starts a 2-on-1 with DeBrusk. He continues to be on a roll as of late. Comes just seconds after DeBrusk nearly scores off a rush following a steal in the neutral zone by Krejci.
7:32: Bergeron fires one across the slot that deflects off Darling and he has to cover it up. Tonight is Darling's first start of the season.
7:27: Good play by Moore to intercept a feed into the crease off a backhand feed from Slavin. Lauzon also doing a good job of getting the puck out of danger in the slot.
7:20: Lauzon with good board play in the early going. Much stronger than he looks.
7:18: Nice forechecking from Donato and Bjork. Wouldn't have likely said that last season.
7:14: Donato shoots wide from the high slot. Still firing from far out, but his shot selection is getting better as the year has gone on. Plenty of good looks on Saturday against the Habs.
7:12: B's can't capitalize despite firing two shots on goal.
7:09: Puck is dropped and the B's get a chance on the power play just 35 seconds in. Carolina 30th in the league in the PK with a 68% rate.

PREGAME NOTES:
- After missing the first 11 games of the regular season due to an ankle injury, defenseman Torey Krug will make his season debut Tuesday against the Hurricanes, with the puck-moving defenseman skating on Boston’s second D pairing with John Moore. Krug’s return comes at a good time, as Matt Grzelcyk will miss the contest with a lower-body injury. A major weapon on the power play, Krug should help a unit that opened the season with just a 1-for-13 success rate on the road.
- Even though Krug is back with the club, Bruce Cassidy was quick to note that the blue liner will have plenty of rust to shake off after only playing in a pair of preseason games. “He was ready medically. But he hadn’t competed much with the team,” Cassidy said. “So you’re a little behind. He said it himself. The everyday jostling, battling for pucks in practice, playing the game schedule, you can’t replicate it. It’s difficult. You’ve got to play. Going back on pucks, getting hit. So when he came back, he just started that process. I think he’s starting over, a little bit.”
- While Colby Cave was an emergency call-up on Monday, the P-Bruins center will be Boston’s 13th forward on Tuesday, with most of the Bruins’ forward combos remaining the same. Ryan Donato, who had a couple of Grade-A chances in Saturday’s loss to Montreal, will look to carry that momentum over on the third line with Joakim Nordstrom and Anders Bjork.
- Jaroslav Halak will get the start in net for the Black and Gold, while David Pastrnak will look to continue his hot stretch against Carolina. In 10 games against the Hurricanes, Pastrnak has buried six goals and added five assists.
- One of the biggest surprises so far this season, a young Hurricanes squad currently stands in second place in the Metropolitan Division with a 6-4-1 record and sit in 15th in the NHL in both goals for (33) and goals against (31). They have excelled at controlling the puck early this season, leading all teams with a 61.25 Corsi For Percentage.
- “They seem to be a bigger team than what we saw in the past,” Cassidy said of Carolina. “They’ve always had good shot metrics, that doesn’t surprise me. Their D has always been active. They’re on the puck. Heavy forecheck. A lot of style, I find similar to what we’ve seen in the past. Just bigger bodies and younger players — some of them we’re still getting to know.”
- Just 21 years old, Sebastian Aho is already emerging as a star for Carolina, leading the team in scoring with 16 points over 11 games. Aho is looking to become the third player in NHL history to open a season with an assist in 12 straight games — a mark only reached by Wayne Gretzky (Edmonton Oilers, 1982-83) and Ken Linseman (Bruins, 1985-86).
