9:41: FINAL: Bruins win it, 3-0. On a night where the Bergeron line is kept off the scoreboard, a strong showing on defense, a Halak shutout and some great play from guys like Bjork and Heinen put Boston ahead.
9:40: Empty netter for Chara. 3-0 Bruins.
9:38: Too many men has Bruins back on the power play with 1:40 to go.
9:32: A couple of scrums leads to a few skaters heading to the box. At the end of it, Bruins get another power play.
9:27: Brandon Carlo up to a team-high 22:53 TOI in this one, including a 62.96 CF% in 15:27 of 5-on-5 play. He's playing some of his best hockey right now.
9:26: Pastrnak draws a trip and the Bruins are back on the power play.

8:52: That secondary assist for Steven Kampfer is his first point as a Bruins since recording a helper back on Jan. 24, 2012 against the Capitals.
8:41: END SECOND: Bruins starting to tilt the ice in their favor after a pretty ugly start to the stanza. Halak with some BIG stops to bail Boston out, including two beauties against Giroux.

- No major changes to the B’s forward groups following Tuesday’s win over Ottawa, with Danton Heinen remaining on the second line and Joakim Nordstrom centering Anders Bjork and Chris Wagner on the third line. Ryan Donato remains on the fourth line, although we did see him get some reps on Boston’s top power-play unit, skating in his usual spot on the man advantage as the net front guy.
- Jaroslav Halak will get the nod in net for the Bruins against the Flyers, while Tuukka Rask will start in net on Saturday against Montreal. In his career against Philly, Halak is 9-5-1 with a .917 save percentage.
- Much like Charlie McAvoy and Kevan Miller, there wasn’t much in terms of an update for David Backes on Thursday, with the veteran center still sidelined due to an upper-body injury. “Better. Upper-body. He’s still out,” Cassidy said of Backes. “Didn’t skate today, didn’t skate yesterday. So obviously that’s the next progression for him, to get back on the ice. But again, I don’t have a definitive timeline for him.”
- After blocking a shot with his hand against the Oilers last Thursday, Miller will be out for at least four weeks, with Cassidy confirming Thursday that Miller is wearing a cast. Cassidy added that McAvoy is dealing with an “upper-body” injury, likely after taking a hit against the Oilers back on Oct. 11. While McAvoy was back at Warrior Ice Arena on Thursday, Cassidy added that the 20-year-old is not quite ready to get back out on the ice.
- The Flyers are looking to snap a two-game losing skid, but Philly has struggled as of late at TD Garden, posting a record of 1-6-2 in its last nine games in Boston.
- The Flyers’ defense has struggled to open the year, ranking second to last in goals allowed with 38 on the year. Boston’s power play has to a chance to capitalize against a Philly PK that also ranks second to last in the NHL with a kill rate of 68.8 percent.
