Bill Belichick didn’t mince words Monday when he was asked about the breakdowns on the 75-yard pass play from Pat Mahomes to Tyreek Hill late in the game to tie the contest.
Speaking on a conference call with the media, Belichick said it was a combination of things that ended up leading to the thunderbolt of a scoring strike.
“I’d just say that was just bad defense, bad coaching, bad playing,” he said. “Bad everything.”
After the game, safety Duron Harmon took responsibility for what happened on the play, a sequence where Hill was able to find an opening in the New England secondary and race past Harmon on the way to the late score.
