Gilmore says Ramsey is a 'zone guy'

Stephon Gilmore is usually a quiet guy who’s averse to making headlines, but it’ll be interesting to see if his latest comments about Jalen Ramsey end up making waves.

Speaking with Zo & Bertrand on Wednesday, Gilmore was asked about Ramsey’s occasional forays into trash talk.

“It’s his personality,” Gilmore said. “That’s not my style, but I find a lot of guys that talk are mostly zone guys, so they have a lot of energy to do that.

“It’s funny. A lot of people can talk but you’ve got to back it up — which he does. Sometimes. It is what it is. A lot of guys that talk, that’s just their personality or that’s just how they is. I feel like a lot of people that talk like that, they’ve got a lot of energy because they’re playing … that’s just how they is.”

The phrase "zone guys" can inferred by some that he's not necessarily a No. 1 corner, but someone whose buttressed by his fellow defensive backs. Ramsey hasn't responded, but given his track record, he'll have something to say about it.

Mahomes watched a lot of Brady film in college

Pat Mahomes was asked Wednesday about getting a chance to watch Tom Brady, and the Kansas City quarterback said he actually watched a ton of Brady film in college at Texas Tech. Mahomes’ coach, Kliff Kingsbury, was a Brady backup for a stretch.

“I actually watched Tom Brady a good amount in college,” Mahomes said on a conference call Wednesday. “My coach in college was Kliff Kingsbury, and he actually was a backup for Brady at one point, and so he showed me things that he liked with Tom and his pocket movements and stuff he did within the pocket that I've tried to put in my game a little bit. And, he's someone that's had a ton of success in this league and is someone that you do take stuff from.”
