Good morning! 

A few random thoughts while I contemplate if one could ever get tired of swimming in the tears of Yankees' fans ... Verdict: NO.

• Let's check in on Gotham, shall we?

• There's not much to add, although I'm surprised Aaron Boone is taking such heat. For a late hook for Luis Severino? I mean, was it really going to make much of a difference? How about putting in on the players, who actually played and stunk up the joint?


• Who had a worse game, the Yankees or Angel Hernandez?

• What does an umpire who has three (might have been more, I tuned out for a while) calls overturned in one game receive? Not a demotion, not a suspension ... the home plate assignment in Game 4 tonight. I'm not kidding. Hold onto your butts.

• So Alex Cora can obviously do no wrong ... I tried to tell you in August.

• How about the brass ones on Nathan Eovaldi? He seems to be one of those athletes blessed to be fully unaware of his surroundings. I mean, do you really think he understood the gravity of the situation last night? Doubt it. Guys like David Price are cursed to be in their own heads. But it wouldn't hurt for Price to Eovaldi's brain on this topic. "Hey, I know you make about $29.225 million less than me but ... how did you do that?"


• Are Brock Holt and Julian Edelman really the same people or, at least, relatives? They're the same size, both know exactly where the cameras are, and love their attention.


• Not a bad home opener for the Bruins. No, the season opener is not a distant memory. You don't get a mulligan being that bad. Especially you, Tuukka.
