FOXBOROUGH — It wasn’t the best game for veteran defensive back Devin McCourty on Thursday night against the Colts — he appeared to struggle in coverage with the Indy tight ends’ — but when he needed to make a play in a key moment, he was able to step up and assert himself.
With just over five minutes left in the third quarter of Thursday’s game, the Colts were on the move. Despite a decimated lineup, Indy quarterback Andrew Luck was keeping the Colts in the ballgame, as they trailed New England 24-10. Indy had a first and 10 at its own 44-yard line.
Luck dropped back and found Jordan Wilkins on a short pass underneath. McCourty went to try and tackle Wilkins … but when he wouldn't go down, it looked like McCourty simply wrestled the ball away from the running back.
