Good morning!
A few random thoughts while I wonder what else could be going on in Boston sports this weekend.
- The Patriots looked like they were going to put a 50-burger up on the Colts, but a weird second half in which two Tom Brady passes hit his receivers in the hands and wound up as interceptions, and 298 yards allowed by the defense, made for some uncomfortable moments early in the fourth quarter.
- But then Josh Gordon caught a bomb, the Colts threw one to the Patriots, and then Sony Michel laid a stiff-arm on a TD run and it was back to being a laugher.
- The Bruins finally decided to start playing hockey in the second game and beat the Sabres 4-0. Jaroslav Halak posted a shutout ... yeah, nothing to see there or anything. No pressure on Tuukka Rask in his next start.
- Four assists for Brad Marchand. Not bad at all.
- So Kyrie Irving just suddenly announced he plans on re-signing with the Celtics after the season. Ok, then.
- And, finally — man, how things have changed when a Yankees-Red Sox playoff series doesn't get the first three billing spots — we get the best rivalry in sports in the postseason. It's delicious. And, boy, I really hope Chris Sale has his stuff because if the Sox drop Game 1 and it's on David Price in Game 2....
- What a weekend.
