Good morning!
A few random thoughts while I wonder if the Colts will put up more points than the Capitals did goals last night against the Bruins:
- I'm not sure I've ever seen a team more inept in a season opener than the Bruins last night. They barely had any good scoring chances, the Capitals easily breezed up and down the ice ... it was, as Patrice Bergeron said, embarrassing.
- Tuukka Rask is going to get a lot of heat today, and on most nights he should, but the rest of the team was so bad ... he's the least of the issues right now. But it's not going to help things if Jaro Halak keeps playing like that when he gets chances. Nobody was going to believe that Doby was going to play consistently for an extended stretch, but Halak might be different.
- About the only good thing to happen was Brad Marchand beating the crap out of Lars Eller.
- I'm having a hard time rallying for this Patriots-Colts game. Hope the Patriots don't feel the same way, but I don't think it will even matter. The Colts are so beat up right now, and they weren't even good to begin with.
- Yes! Red Sox-Yankees. Yankees-Red Sox. Aaron Boone vs. Alex Cora. Gotham vs. The Hub. Sale vs. Severino. Aroldis Chapman vs. Craig Kimbrel. The Twin Towers vs. Mookie & Martinez. Love it, love it, love it. The only shame is it won't be seven games.
- Can we get Curt Schilling to throw out a first pitch with his bloody sock? Dave Roberts? Kevin Millar? Big Papi? D-Lowe?
