A brief intro — and what you can expect from Bruins coverage as a BSJ subscriber

Today marks my first official day as a staff writer at Boston Sports Journal, and being frank, it all still feels surreal.  

As a Southie kid who went from tipping over milk crates at Murphy Rink to becoming a BU student that spent most of his senior year covering Jack Eichel and the Terriers, it's fair to say that hockey has been a constant throughout my life.

During my time at previous stops like MassLive and the Cape Cod Times, I’ve covered the Patriots, Red Sox and much more. But I’ve always felt a special connection to hockey.

It’s easy to fall in love with the game outright — whether it be due to a bone-crushing hit out on open ice or a rush capped off with a filthy dangle.

But for me, it’s the little details that make the game of hockey so special.

Whether it be a quick lineup shuffle, a split-second gaffe or a string of solid shifts from a recent call-up — people care about every aspect of this game, and getting a chance to interact with a knowledgeable and passionate community of BSJ readers on a regular basis is something that I can’t wait to dive headfirst into.

In terms of what our subscribers can expect for this Boston Bruins season, look for detailed game breakdowns and notebooks following every game and practice — along with a number of exclusive interviews, expert insight and feature stories that go beyond the usual X’s and O’s.
