First and 10: Wrapping up Sunday's ugly loss to Lions taken at BSJ Headquarters (All Articles)

Welcome to first and 10, a roundup of all the (mostly) Patriots-related news you need to start your Monday. Grab your coffee and let’s get to it.

Not sure the Patriots could get out of Detroit fast enough after what happened Sunday night.

Even by September standards, that was a pretty ugly loss. They were pretty much dominated in every phase of the game. It'll be interesting to see where New England ends up going from here -- with 3-0 Miami coming to town this weekend, the Patriots will have to find their footing pretty quickly, or risk having to spend the rest of the year playing catch-up. We'll spend the next few days dissecting what happened, but safe to say New England's early-season margin for error has just about vanished.

You know how New England did Sunday -- here's a quick check on how some former Patriots did:

Danny Amendola (MIA): 3 catches, 42 yards
Chandler Jones (ARI): 4 tackles, 1 sack (5 yards)
Jimmy Garoppolo (SF): 20-for-30, 251 yards, 2 TDs, 4 sacks
Dion Lewis (TEN): 9 carries, 26 yards; 3 catches, 14 yards
Brandin Cooks (LAR): 7 catches, 90 yards
LeGarrette Blount (DET): 16 carries, 48 yards

Monday’s schedule — No player availability
1:30 p.m.: Conference call with Bill Belichick
1:45 p.m.: Conference call with Josh McDaniels

Now, on with the links...

1. I have the predictably ugly game report. Read it at your own peril.

2. Greg's column takes a look at New England's major flaws that were on display Sunday in Detroit, and tries to figure out if they can be mitigated.

3. I also had Live Coverage locked down all night long.

4. Rob Gronkowski confirmed the report after the game he was going to retire if he was traded to the Lions.

5. Tom Brady on the offensive woes of late? "That's no way to play football." Mmm hmm.

6. I've got the Stay Covered Defensive Play of the Game. We went with two -- a sweet TFL by Deatrich Wise and Ja'Whaun Bentley's first career interception.

7. I've got a Monday afternoon Q&A that's going to be epic. Get your questions in now.

8. Greg spent some quality time after the contest with the guys from the 98.5 postgame show.

9. We've got postgame video from Bill Belichick and Gronkowski.

10. And last but not least, one more shoutout for my weekend notebook, which has a ton of good stuff. Read it and get educated.
