The Patriots have already announced the trade. Hue Jackson confirmed it. But Bill Belichick still isn't talking about it.
On a conference call with the media Tuesday, Belichick wouldn’t discuss new receiver Josh Gordon, saying only they “still working through” the process of adding him to the roster.
“We’re in the same place we were with him (Monday),” said Belichick when quizzed about Gordon and what he might bring to New England. “We’re in the process of working through it. We’ll just have to see how it goes.”
UPDATE, 5:45 p.m.: On Tuesday, the official NFL transaction wire had the trade as being official -- see below -- so all the specifics have been worked out.
In addition, the Patriots added Jace Billinsgley back to the practice squad, and classified Riley McCarron as "practice squad injured." I'm sure it's not coincidental Billinsgley has a background in the Detroit offense...
