BSJ Daily Briefing 09.10.18: Pats start strong, Sox get another walkoff win taken at BSJ Headquarters (Regular Features)

Adam Richins/Boston Sports Journal

Good morning!

  • Not the perfect start for the Pats but they did enough on both sides of the ball to pull out the win in Week 1. Greg has you covered with what kind of takeaways you should believe in after the win.

  • The Philip Dorsett hype has been here at BSJ all preseason long between Chris and Greg and he lived up to it on Sunday. Looks like a full training camp does make a difference.

  • Another game, another blown lead by the bullpen, but it didn't matter with another walkoff win. The fact that no setup guys are stepping up at this point is concerning but you can never count out this group. Avoiding a sweep at home against a likely playoff opponent should help on the confidence front as well.

  • What a crazy week around the league. My condolences to everyone who picked the Saints in their suicide pool. I know I feel dumb for having their defense on my fantasy team.

  • I guess Khalil Mack was worth two first round picks. Will be very interesting to see how the Bears react to that incredible comeback by Aaron Rodgers. That's the type of loss that can derail your whole season.

  • The Steelers blew a 14-point lead in Cleveland and couldn't score in 15 minutes of overtime. Wonder how Mr. Bell felt watching that from afar.
