BSJ Daily Briefing 08.29.18: Sox win, but bullpen woes continue taken at BSJ Headquarters (Regular Features)

Good morning!

  • Sox managed to escape last night against the Marlins and never did I think a journeyman reliever would be so critical to the Sox in Ryan Brasier. His sore foot left him out last night and there's not a whole lot else in mid-relief you can trust right now if you're Alex Cora, as Sean explained.

  • Starting to worry a little bit about Craig Kimbrel too. His ERA in August is up to 4.50 after last night's blown save. More concerning? His WHIP is 1.50. He needs to get right in the next month

  • Was it just me or is it weird that Eduardo Nunez got a Gatorade bath last night?

I'm all for celebrating after a win but when a guy grounded into what should have been an inning-ending double play, maybe hold off on the bath. At least he hustled down the line?

  • Pats will be traveling down to New York today, so at least they will dodge practicing on the hottest day of the year.
