The Celtics unveiled their new state-of-the-art training facility on Tuesday morning, introducing the Auerbach Center to the world in a ceremony that included team ownership, Mayor Marty Walsh, Governor Charlie Baker and Randy Auerbach.

The Celtics’ new 70,000 square foot practice home is set feet away from Warrior Ice Arena and is highly visible from the Massachusetts Turnpike with a 40-foot glass wall enclosing the practice courts.

“The Auerbach Center will be the foundation on which future great Celtics teams will be built,” said Wyc Grousbeck, Boston Celtics Governor and Managing Partner. “We are so glad to honor Red, the architect of Celtic Pride, in this way, and to work with New Balance to build this stunning facility.”

The team will hold their first official practice at the facility on July 3rd ahead of Celtics Summer League action in Las Vegas and the team's front office and coaching staff will move into the complex for good in August.

For the past 15 years, the Celtics shared their practice facility with multiple businesses at the Healthpoint Center in Waltham. They only had one full court to practice on and limited space throughout the area.

The Auerbach Center has addressed all of those needs, thanks to a complex that features two full courts, a massive weight room, film room, players' lounge, nap room, hot and cold tub area, kitchen (with a full-time nutritionist), sports science lab, and expanded office area for the team's front office and training staff.
