FOXBOROUGH -- (clears throat) A poem, if I may…

Listen, my children, and you shall hear
The story of Teal Bunbury, and of how he had no fear
He was offside, it was clear as day
But good ol’ VAR, it said ‘no way’
He had continued his move, he had slotted home
Because SKC gave him room to roam
The Revs came away with the points, all three
Now off to Montreal, that’s good news for "oui."

OK, so I’m no Longfellow. No one’s writing sonnets about the Revs’ 1-nil win over Sporting Kansas City Saturday night, which allowed New England to avoid back-to-back home defeats since August 2016, either.

But someone can write a textbook about Bunbury’s goal, and of how he was right to keep the move going -- even with the assistant referee’s flag high in the air.
