VAR giveth sometimes: He looked offside, right? Just goes to show you can’t trust your eyes. Right before the end of the first half, Diego Fagundez looked to play through to a clearly offside Teal Bunbury, who then slotted home even as the assistant referee flagged him. But after referee David Gantar got the bee in his bonnet to check the Video Assistant Referee, replays showed that Sporting Kansas City’s Roger Espinoza had gotten a toe on the football from behind DF14, and it’s just another move. Bunbury gets credit for his fourth goal of the season, and that was all New England needed to claim the three points.
