BSJ Daily Briefing 03.28.18: Bruins set up first-place showdown, C's go for 4-0 road trip taken at BSJ Headquarters (Regular Features)

Kim Klement/USA Today Sports

Good morning!

  • The Bruins' ascent in the division continued last night as they closed to within one point of Tampa Bay by earning an overtime point against the Jets in a highly entertaining affair. With two head-to-head battles with the Lighting remaining, the Bruins control their own destiny in race for Atlantic Division title. Just an amazing accomplishment, based on how far back they started from.

  • Celtics go for an unlikely 4-0 road trip tonight despite their limited manpower. Would be surprised to see Marcus Morris (sprained ankle) suit up for it, given how ugly that injury looked on Monday night.

  • Pretty big win for the playoff standings by the Heat over Cleveland last night. It puts them back into the No. 7 spot in the East, while the Cavs are now only holding a slight edge for the No. 3 seed. C's may end up getting Philadelphia in the second round after all, if they can escape the first round.

  • Can't believe opening day is almost here for the Red Sox. We'll have both Greg and Sean on the scene in Tampa for the matinee tomorrow afternoon in what feels like one of the earliest opening days ever. Stay tuned for some great preview stuff from Sean over the next couple days
